Permet – Sopot Waterfall – Benja – Gjirokaster

A 45-minute drive leads to the trailhead beneath Mount Nemercka. Follow water channels towards Sopot Waterfall, with views across the Vjosa Valley and the mountain’s steep northern face.

After the walk, continue to the entrance of Lengarica Canyon and the warm thermal pools at Benja, traditionally believed to have healing properties. You can soak in the sulphur-rich water or explore part of the river canyon on foot, depending on water conditions.

The transfer to Gjirokastër takes around 1 hr 30 min. The night is spent in a traditional house in the old town, with time for an initial walk through the City of Stone.
