PACKING LIST
RECOMMENDED ITEMS TO BRING ON YOUR TRIP
What to pack?
While we each need slightly different items for going on holidays, experience has shown that the following should definitely make it on the trip with you for your safety and comfort:
- sturdy (ankle high) hiking boots
- comfortable second pair of shoes or sandals
- hat or other form of sun protection, in addition to sun cream and glasses
- light rainwear (i.e. rain jacket)
- warm fleece or similar clothing as even in summer time nights can be chilly
- 2l water gear (reusable water bottles or hydration packs)
- small backpack (25-40l) to carry necessities during the day
- gaiters (if you hike with us in May or in areas above 2000m)
- swim wear (optional, but recommended)
Luggage Transfers on Mules
Please note that for every tour that includes luggage transfers on mules or horses, that only one piece of luggage is allowed, which shall not exceed 15kg of weight. In addition please refrain from using hard-shell suitcases, as they can't be fastened properly on the saddle. Please bring big backpacks, duffel bags or any other soft bags instead.
Likelihood of Lost Luggage
Please note that in recent years, with the expansion of Tirana International Airport and the higher volume of flights, checked luggage has been more likely to get lost, and once the airport locates your luggage, you might already be on your way to a remote mountain area. Hence we recommend that you place essential items in your hand luggage, and wear your hiking boots during your flight.
