I’ve just finished 13 days Peaks of the Balkans tour and am still full of great memories and impressions from that trip.
I found the tour highly interesting and enjoyed both hiking as well as cultural part of it.
The organization and logistics worked perfectly – everything went smoothly and according to the plan.
The accommodation was as expected or above, except of one guesthouse, where the rooms were really in a bad shape.
All hosts were very friendly and helpful, the food was everywhere very good or exceptional, reach and truly local.
The route was well planned – we did not need to do any long walks on roads to reach a trail or to come to a guesthouse. This first and last two days were a light ones -with 3-4 hours hikes only. The other days – intensive or very intensive.
I believe it might be useful to change the sequence a bit and make one light day in the middle of the tour, with 3/4 hours of walking and the rest of the day to be used for laundry/swimming/ housekeeping. This would create a nice break between heavy hiking days.
Both guides were professional, friendly and very passionate about the Albanian history.
Overall – fantastic experience ! Highly recommend !
