We booked a self-guided 12 days tour mostly following the peaks of the balkans.
The organisation was perfect, several transfers, accomodation, everything went smooth. Ricardo and his team were very friendly and helpful. You get a detailed briefing and extensive documentation, and a phone with a local number (important because Albania is one of the very expensive roaming countries. However, reception in the mountains is usually rare). P
The Peaks of the Balkans trail is a great nature experience, technically not very demanding but physically challenging. You’ll find a mix of fairly basic and quite modern accommodation. Transfer can feel like an adventure, but this is due to the condition of the local roads and vehicles.
However, Thethi, one of the better known places, was very disappointing for us. Compared to the rest of the trail, one can speak of overtourism here already.
Overall a great experience for us, and the Zbulo team has played a big part in that. Thank you very much!
