I absolutely loved the parts where we had ice to cross, I loved finding the fresh bear footprint in the mud. I loved that there were so many butterflies on the days the sun was shining. I loved the local families we stayed with – meeting local people. I loved learning about the challenges people went through under the communist regime when trying to escape across the borders.
