Valbone – Koman – Tirane

After a last breakfast between the peaks, we drive through the mountain-lined valley towards the provincial capital and ferry station at Fierze (>1 h). Here we board a boat for the two hour sail across the fjord-like landscape of the Komani Lake. It’s an appropriate departure from our trekking tour on the Peaks of the Balkans and followed by a pompous lunch feast at a well known agritourism. In the afternoon we arrive in Tirana. The modern, vibrant capital makes for a stark contrast to the traditional, tranquil mountain destinations we visited. Here Albania presents it’s very different modern side. How about celebrating our adventure with an evening out in the nightlife district Blloku?
