Kukes – Shishtavec – Mt. Kallabak – Caje

A 45-minute transfer leads through the Vanave Gorge to the Gorani village of Shishtavec. The walk begins with a gradual ascent to Mount Kallabak (2,174 m), followed by open meadows and a panoramic ridge near the Albania–Kosovo border.

The Gorani are a Slavic-speaking community whose settlements extend across the border region. Continue towards views of Mount Korab (2,764 m), then descend into the valley of Caje. Your first full walking stage on the High Scardus Trail ends at the village guesthouse.
