Arrival – Kukes

Meet the Zbulo team at the airport or in Tirana for a briefing and the handover of your self-guiding materials, including the roadbook, maps and navigation equipment. You then travel to Kukes, or to Shishtavec where arranged. Public transport may also be possible with assistance to reach the correct departure point. Confirm the meeting place and time in advance; luggage not needed on the trek can be stored in Tirana.

Kukes lies in north-eastern Albania near the meeting of the White Drin and Black Drin rivers. Views of Mount Gjallica (2,489 m) provide an introduction to the mountain landscape ahead.
